Round midnight

By Cynthia Closkey on 29 Sep 2007

Hey all,

I’m about at the end of my limits here. I’ve had a completely wonderous creative marathon and show party festival extravaganza. I hope you have too.

If you were here, thank you! If you sponsored the event, you are a hero and we love you to bits.

If you weren’t here but you read the posts … thank you for reading. I hope they inspired you. When next you have the chance to create something special and new — in particular, if you have the chance to try something you don’t know you’ll be good at — I hope you’ll dig in and try, attempt, experiment. Let it go, let it flow.

Rock on!

I’m feeling just Jim Dandy!

By Jia on 29 Sep 2007

The indie powerpop-comedy sensation, The Jim Dandies, are on right now rocking the faces off everyone in the crowd. That burning, itching sensation you’re feeling right now is the sheer power of their rock coursing through your fragile body. Straight from the gangstas filthy mouthes themselves, they are:

“Hailing from various parts of Pittsburgh, The Jim Dandies are made up of Nathan, who sloppily plays bass and tries to sing, Shawn, who skillfully plays the drums and insists “it’s not really THAT bad”, and Josh, whose vast musical talents are wasted on simple 4 note songs about giant robots and funeral homes. The Jim Dandies prefer to keep their band practices to an absolute minimum so their audience can observe the creative process of musical refinement through public performance. Hopefully, that’s a good enough excuse for what you’ll hear. The Jim Dandies promise to rock your socks off, then return said “rocked socks” to you washed and neatly folded. If for any reason you are not fully satisfied with velocity and / or completeness in which your socks are removed via rocking, please return the un-rocked portion for a full refund.”
